The master Junaid had a disciple who he preferred over all others, which incited the jealousy of the rest. Junaid, who knew the hearts, realized it and said, «It is superior in civility and intelligence to all of you. Let’s have a experience so that you too may understand.»

Junaid ordered them to bring twenty birds, and told his disciples: «Let every one take a bird, take it to a place where no one can see you, kill him, and then bring it to me».

All the disciples depart, killed the birds and brought them back. All… except the favorite disciple, who returned the bird alive.

«Why didn’t you kill him?» Junaid said.
 
«Because the master has said that it had to be done in a place where nobody could see us,» answered the disciple. «Well, everywhere I went God was watching.»
 
«You see the degree of his understanding,» said Junaid – “Compare it with the others.»
 
The disciples asked God for forgiveness.

Act on today with the conviction that we cannot hide and that all our actions are seen. Consider this permanent look helps us to respect ourselves, and at the same time facilitates the relationship with our family, friends, partners … It is certain, in that way we wikk not kill any “birds” neither we will offend anyone.

Perhaps as these disciples did, we have jealousy or envy of someone else we admired. Let us focus on our development, and activate the higher performance that nest in our wonderful and great heart. Enjoy and contribute to the highlights of each one, so that the effort turns minimal for all.

 

Junaíd ordenó entonces que le trajeran veinte pájaros, y les dijo a los discípulos: «Que cada uno coja un pájaro, se lo lleve a un lugar en el que nadie le vea, lo mate, y me lo traiga luego».

Todos los discípulos se fueron, mataron los pájaros y los volvieron a traer. Todos… salvo el discípulo favorito, que le devolvió vivo el pájaro.

 ¿Por qué no lo has matado? », preguntó Junaid.

 «Porque el maestro ha dicho que tenía que hacerse en un lugar en el que nadie pudiese vernos», respondió el discípulo. «Pues bien a todas las partes donde he ido, Dios estaba viendo».

«Veis el grado de su comprensión —exclamó Junaid — comparadlo con los demás».

Los discípulos pidieron perdón a Dios

Actuemos en el día de hoy con el convencimiento de que no podemos escondernos y que todos nuestros actos son vistos. Pensemos esa mirada permanente nos ayuda a respetarnos, a la vez que nos facilita la relación con nuestra familia, los amigos, los colaboradores…Seguro, que de este modo, no mataremos ningún “pájaro” ni ofenderemos a nadie.

Quizá como estos discípulos tengamos celos o envidia de alguien más admirado. Pongamos el foco en nuestro desarrollo, y activemos el comportamiento más elevado que anida en nuestro maravilloso y grandioso corazón. Disfrutemos de la grandeza de nuestros compañeros de viaje, y contribuyamos con lo más sobresaliente de cada uno, para que el esfuerzo sea mínimo para todos.

El maestro Junaíd tenía un discípulo al que prefería sobre todos los demás, lo que incitó los celos de los otros discípulos. Junaíd —que conocía los corazones— se dio cuenta de ello y les dijo: «Es superior en cortesía y en inteligencia a todos vosotros. Hagamos una experiencia para que vosotros también lo comprendáis».
